Write About NT

We decided awhile ago that instead of investing gobs of money into advertising Nice Translator, we’d put that energy into making it as awesome as possible and trust that our users will want to share it with their friends, family and, if they own a blog, their readers.

If you love Nice Translator and feel that your users might too, we’d love it if you could write up a quick review (and if there is any reason you don’t like NT, let us know!) . Post a link to your article in the comments here, and we’ll be sure to add it to our ‘Thank You’ page.

Thanks for using Nice Translator and for spreading the word; we appreciate it!

don´t would be nice to have an option to sugest translations to words or phrases within the Nice Translation Page as we do when you translate a page from google translator?….. Just sugesting…

TAK TAK
Dettte er den ultimative bedste løsning på oversættelse, jeg er stødt på.
Nem og enkel at gå til, og med et “ordforråd” som man skal lede længe efter .
Slut med krøllede ordbøger med bogstaver så små, at man må bruge hjælpemidler for at læse det. Jeg sender jeres link til enhver jeg kender.

Great deal. Thanks !

As a localization professional, I find nice translator incredibly useful. Having multiple simultaneous instant translations is valuable for someone needing to quickly double check a string or phrase in more than one language.

The clean and minimal interface makes work (and learning) fun! Excited to see what else you have in store.

John,

Thanks for your comment! It’s wonderful to know you find it useful in your line of work. Please let us know if you have any ideas for features that would make it even more useful for you.

Not only I just added you to our showcase of single function sites, but I am also a big fan!

We at the Library Infinite would like to celebrate Nice Translator for its most excellent contribution to the web at large. You have been chosen as one of the key sites to represent the following archetype: Linguist.

The Library Infinite is a user based web portal which directs a person to a themed page according to a selected archetype. There are 35-40 personas including Musiclover, Parents, Sportsfan, Activist, and Gossip which are independent of culture or gender. It is designed for non-data oriented people, people who want targeted information about their lifestyle, and anyone who is overwhelmed by the infinite nature of the internet.

As a complementary marketing device, The Library Infinite will be showcased in the upcoming book “Computer, Metaphorically Speaking.” The book covers twelve chapters on the anatomy, culture, psychology, usage, and potential of the machine. Chapter 3 highlights the theme of the internet as a Library Infinite.

You are fondly invited to explore all aspects of The Library Infinite .

I just found this translating site. Wonderful and surprising easy to use for this not computer literate senior citizen.

My translations are between Slovenian and English therefore I need the umlauts. For instance the character code for “z” is “holding down the Alt key while keying 0158 and then releasing” Must use the number key pad and not the numbers above the letters.

I have the character codes for all umlauted letters except the “C” “c”. Does anyone know the character code for the letter “C”?

Dorothy

Yes, I have written about NT since Dec 31, 2008, this is a great site and the realtime translation is what makes this site different. To read all about it on My tech blog or you can visit: http://teknisyan.blogspot.com/search/label/nicetranslator.

Thanks again!

Thanks for yours efforts

Yep! We wrote about it at our blog here-http://byzone.org/2008/12/13/real-time-translation-service/

The Arabic is decent but the Indonesian has many problems – for example, I cannot translate a simple sentence from English into Indonesian such as “I am tired”…my wife is from Malaysia & since Indonesian is very similar, she can tell that even simple sentences are not being correctly rendered. Is this something that can be corrected?

Also, is it possible to add Malay (from Malaysia)?

the site really rocks. i was using google translate before i find this beautiful site..Now i am in love with this site for its fast and accurate conversion
http://latestcenter.com/2009/05/free-and-fast-online-language.html

I’m an English-speaker living in Mexico and constantly need to figure out how to express things in Spanish. I love Nice Translator and use it every single day, lots of times! The simple interface is great, and the translations seem to be better than other online translators, more natural.

I only have one wish: that in Spanish, “you” wouldn’t be translated into the formal “usted” form by default. I wish it was the familiar “tu” form by default. I guess there are others who prefer it the way it is, but I just wanted to put in my vote.

Thanks for a great service.

thank you for checking

Great deal. Thanks !

why not turkish?
I can’t translate english to turkish.can you add translate english to turkish.

Dear Friends,
The actual presentations is nicer.
As a idea, you can create a way to do bigger text, such as pages or sites.
Another idea is do some small corrections, overall in English, as you do actually in the google.com.
Courrage,
Regards
Bob

it is really good job but there is a bug while i am trying to translate some russian text in IE.

the text is “привет” and no result.
waiting for response :)

I find NT to be pretty impressive. I like the fact that it instantly translates as you type, and the translations it provides are usually on the mark. Oh, and the auto-detect is pretty nifty too. What bothers me slightly about NT is that you can’t drag it’s window to adjust it’s position on the screen (such as how it remains in a single spot on a site that allows you to scroll up or down). Another thing that bothers me about it is how it auto-detects a language which is described as “unnamed”, such as Hungarian. Other than that, NT doesn’t disappoint.

From today 1 Agust, it is not translated the ACCENT in the italian language… (example: i write in italian “comunità” but sees “comunit” , lì = l, sù = s, ect…) Why?

pls add turkish.

now the problem of ACCENT in the italian language is gone, it is ok! :)

this web site is so perfect …thank you for making it free but i hope that you add more expressions and frases

its a rearly good translaterprogram i use it mostly every day

Danish
Hvorfor kan den nye Nicetranslator ikke forstå de danske bogstaver???
Den gamle kunne!!!

English
Why can the new Nicetranslator not understand the Danish characters???
The old was able to do it!!!

you are right to call like this !! because i really see that’s a nice translaor !! the best ever i’ve seen in my whole life :) thanks for your effort , and keep improving it please.
Imad

Hi NiceTranslator

I have a problem with your nice web site. When I have placed the words, and want to see the result below, I cannot, because of this nagging green screen, where you for instance can click on Tumble, Comments, About, Help etc… I am using 800×600 resolution, and I am very happy with this resolution. How can I get rid of this screen or lower it, so I can see the results.

Thanks in advance
Michael

it’s just awesome. it can help me a lot while i am in a country where English is not first language.

A huge thanks go to the creator of superb NT.

This is the best site of translations I’ve ever seen. Thanks for it. It it a very good work and a great work for every people of the world.

Posted review at my blog. Excellent online app, been using it for a while! :)

http://www.rarst.net/web/nicetranslator/

I works for awhile. Then, as you type more, it kind of crashes? What’s the scope?
John

Rarst,

Thanks so much for the write-up!

John,

I believe Google limits the query somewhere around 1500 characters, but we don’t know for sure. We have thought of strategies to bypass this limit, but aren’t sure if it will impede upon the terms of use for the Google API. For now, break translations up into smaller chunks if you can.

Thanks for your input!
-Nicky

Thank you for your hard work! Great job! It helped me a lot!! Thank you so much and keep up the good work! :)

Nice transalator is fantastic: D it helps me a lot with homework: D (I love to cheat;)

great utility. very useful, reliable, both one-way or two-ways (I tried to translate again what had been translated from NT … truly remarkable). a few mistake here and there, but you did a great job. ah, these phrases are translated by nt as well! thanks

Hi. I would just like to say that your translator is fantastic, really useful. Though i watch alot of anime and i try to learn a bit japanese, so i would like to ask you how to maybe do a little more about the japanese translator. Maybe it would be a good idea to seperate Romanji, kanji and the phonetic alphabeat. Dunno if you already have done that, i just experience often that it can’t translate many japanese words/sentences written in romanji. What if i would like to have my name in japanese, both with the “sound” alphabeat, and in a kanji(because my name means something for instance), or i want to have a written text in both romanji and kanji. And maybe you could add(taken from other websites maybe) sound files or such.
I know it is much to ask, but i could use it:P
I think you are doing a good job really, and it must be hard have it working and translating correctly=). Rune – From Denmark

Really a nice feature, very useful, still need some obvious refining and a larger vocabulary. I am talking about Italian translation. Anyway it’s impressive how fast is and how is effective with small sentences . Very good job…keep up and good luck!

This site is very bad because it translate very bad. Do you undestand me? Yes? You must change something!!!

Я передумал. Переводчик класный!!!!!!

Hi
I just wondered if there is any way of commenting on flaws in the translator and possibly suggesting correct translation of words, that doesn’t seem to be understood by nicetranslator? I’m danish myself and test your site rather intensively by requiring translations between English, French and Danish and often find word that are not correctly translated to danish.

Cheers

Ask

when i write a long text or copy and paste it from a website it takes me a while to delete it , thing is can’t you add a clear all or delete all option next to the input bar?? thanks What is this thing? How do I use it?Who made it?Can I tell you what I think of it? thanks

Hey Nidal,

Thanks for your comment. All you need to do is hit the Escape key (Esc). This will clear the text.

Enjoy NT!

-Nicky

As Ask Emil Jensen said, I really think you should implement something where we can comment on flaws and mistakes your translator makes, and make it better that way

Hi guys,

I have been using NT for a while but i never took the time to thank you again for you job. truth is i’m quite shocked (yes shocked) by how much improvement you have made to this Baby. I remember my firsts comment requesting an integration as a firefox extension.

You have come a long way guys, and you can be proud, this is a pro job.

big Up !

This is really an amazing little website. I am so impressed with the quality of the French translator. You have been a huge help when I’m making travel reservations. Thank you.

It would be nice, if there will be an On-Demand Translation. For Example, i want to Translate “Hello” in different languages, i assign “Hello” to nicetranslator via http://nicetranslator.com?text=hello&lc=de for the englisch/german translation, and get an xml or whatelse back with the translationtext. WoW this would be a great feature!

Site is not working well today. There is a message of some script that is interrupting the normal function of the translator. Is there any solution for this problem?
Thanks.

Hi Efrain, we’re working on some things.

What browser are you on?

Hi. NT dont translate to polish language:-( why?

Hi there,

You guys have done a heck of a job! Sometimes when I use it to translate from English to Danish I am really astonished at the accuracy of NT.
I have some suggestions though:

Can’t you add translator for Urdu and Pashtu languages? Their script shouldn’t be a problem,
you guys have Arabic and Persian, and these two languages use the same script.

And it would be of much more help if NT could have pronunciation (in the form of audio), for individual words at least! (I mean like pronunciation feature in a dictionary- I am learning Danish and find Danish pronunciation too difficult to cope with!)

I know I maybe asking for a lot but I am emboldened by what you have already achieved.
Hope to hear from you soon on these!
